Vlissingen

Since 1315 a city to the river Westernscheldt (sea), first indication of Vlissingen the year 620. Walking, beaches, shopping or simply enjoy the boulevard on the seaside, watching the ships passing by.

View the webcam and the actual weather. Nice or bad weather,  the seaside is always an adventure.
Large and small ships are passing by, on their way to far destinations or to a port in the Westerscheldt area. On the "Keizersbolwerk", at the statue of the sea-hero Michiel the Ruyter, we   can see  the changing of pilots at the roads. Near the statue of "Frans Naerebout", on what we call  "the Leugenaar"  you can almost touch the seagoing vessels.

Vlissingen has two beautiful beaches, "het Badstrand and "het Nollestrand". Did you know that Vlissingen has the most sun hours of the Netherlands? If the weather is not that good you there is always the opportunity to go shopping. The center of the city has a covered shopping area.

Vlissingen also brings you excitement and sensation. In "the Arsenaal" you can watch sea rays, sharks and pirates come to life. "Iguana" takes you to the world of reptiles and spiders, a sensation for young and old. The "MuZEEuM" (museum) tells the history of Vlissingen in flew and tumultuous times.
